Weds poetry prompt: ‘Scars and Stains’ (‘Stained’ poem prompt)

Today’s prompt was to write a ‘Stained’ poem. Kind of ended up being a ‘Scarred’ poem too, but meh! A short and sweet one, this one, but hope you enjoy…

Scars and Stains

Some stick with stubbornness
And shall always remain,
Any hope of cleanliness
From a filthy sin, sadly in vain.

These are the stains that mark
All of those messy mistakes.
Now standing out, sheer and stark
Cracking through skin, till it breaks.
