Weds poetry prompt: ‘Make the Day Your Own’

Yesterday’s prompt: Take the phrase “Make (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.

Make the Day Your Own

Make the day your own
And use it as you wish,
Even when worry and strife
Threaten to take it away.

Make a change of course,
Walk where there is no path
Or go a way not known,
So chance is not forever lost.

Make and leave your mark
Wherever you may roam
And take memories home
To keep and never forget.

Make the most of idle time,
There to be cherished, not killed,
Use it to create, to craft
Beautiful and magical things.

Make space for you alone
When too many voices invade
The inner peace of thought,
And sanity shall surely return.

Make the day your own
To make up for others
That you’ve unwittingly used
For each and everyone else.
