Yesterday’s prompt: Write a ‘Nothing Will Ever Be the Same’ or a ‘Nothing Will Ever Change’ poem (or both) – I chose the latter.
The Same Old Story
Few men fear the familiar
Yet crowds will run scared
From the mere threat of change.
They’ve got this life just-so
With everything in its place,
And care not for relocating
Those iron-clad ideals of theirs.
Stubbornness is the sheer force
That keeps their domain the same
In the face of attempted evolution,
And if all stand rigid enough
Nothing will ever change.
