Day 4’s prompt: Write a beginning and/or an ending poem (Two for Tuesday prompt)

I ended up writing one incorporating both themes – enjoy!

Waiting in Fiery Wings

Anxiously I await an end
To meet a new beginning
In which the whens and hows
Are still under construction
Pending some pensive consideration.
But of one thing I am certain,
And that is the defiant form
That my long-awaited farewell
Shall take when the time comes;
A fiery phoenix in blaze of glory
Birthing itself again and anew,
The ashes of past annoyances left behind.

Last year’s poem for Day 4: ‘Defiance of Distance’
