2017 April PAD Challenge Day 5: ‘Oxygen’ #aprpad

Day 5’s prompt: Pick an element (like from the periodic table), make it the title of your poem (or part of the title), and then, write the poem.

Hm! An interesting prompt, this one. Not being overly knowledgable about this sort of thing, I perhaps went with a relatively safe option – but I hope you enjoy regardless!

In everyday life we embrace
The eighth wonder that is oxygen,
That great elemental anomaly
Which owes its eternal regeneration
Simply to the dance of leaf and light
And some to a motherly ocean too,
A natural song enduring for all of time
That allows body and home to thrive.

Last year’s poem for Day 5: ‘Write Your X-Perience ‘n’ Mad Skillz Here’
