Day 10’s prompt: Write a travel poem.
The Travellers’ Code
Driving in search of destiny
In dusty, deserted roads,
Life’s wanderers and travellers
Simply drift from one dot to another
In the map they’ve made for themselves,
Never stopping for too long,
In case the secrets of their static life
Should unwittingly come to light.
They’ll recruit sporadic allies along the way,
If they follow the same unspoken code,
As sharing their sins with someone
Shall surely spare their sanity
On this long and lonely road.
With stories and trust as currency
The travellers confide in each other,
For they know the kindness of strangers
Far away from the contemptible familiar.
