Day 19’s Prompt: Write a memory poem.
Fragments in Blue
Memories are the tears
Of times both dark and light,
Running down an older face
That will so often retreat
To pivotal days gone by
Stored in conflicting little pieces
In the sanctuary of the mind
For when we only wish to look behind.
They might be harmless flashes
To recall with warmth and fondness,
Or they could be painful shards
To seize and fixate upon,
Their impact brutal and cold;
But they are powerful nonetheless,
Those small flickers of influence
That control the body of now.
