About me – Stuart Peacock

I am an avid reader of literature and have been writing in one form or another since the age of six. I studied English Literature at the University of Essex from 2005 to 2008. My first poetry collection ‘The Awakening’ was published in 2015 (available to purchase on Amazon)

I often perform poetry at local slams and competitions, with a healthy mix of profound seriousness and lighthearted nonsense. You can also read about ‘Why I Write Poetry’ in this article published on the Writer’s Digest website.

My favourite fiction author is Margaret Atwood, and my favourite poets include Charles Baudelaire, John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and William Blake. My phobias include spiders, frogs and polystyrene.

  1. Always nice to meet a fellow Writer’s Digest poetry prompter. 🙂 Btw, I suffer from the same phobia sometimes.
